So he might average 50 by end of career? Quite possible, but so what. Maybe by the time he's 34 his current approach of walking all over the crease won't work due to declining reaction speed. But by no means does this mean Smith has 'bad technique'.
Ponting had a MINOR flaw in his technique that caused him major problems the moment his ridiculous eye dropped. Smith has a MAJOR flaw that hasn't really been exploited due to the lack of quality bowling he's faced since he went on his terror run.

That there are no less than 4 Australian batsmen averaging over 60 in the same timeframe that Smith is should tell you something about the roads and attacks Australia have faced in recent times. Khawaja, Burns, Warner, Voges.

Sillier was that Smithers asked for it then proceeded to block the puss out of things while expecting the others in his side to slog it home for him.

Yeah, he'd never average 60 in South Africa against Steyn, Philander and Morkel with that technique. Or get a double hundred in England against Anderson and Broad. No chance of that happening.

LOL, And Lara scored 400 against England. Is he the greatest of all time based on one innings?

He's not that far off it tbh. Stop being a strawman, and more importantly use someone who isn't Brian Lara as your argument.
