We all talk about Smith, Root, de Villiers & Williamson as the premier batsmen in the world, could be Khawaja sneaking past all of them over the next couple of years
only if they all simultaneously give up cricket to take up another sport which they are also vastly superior at in comparison to uzi.

You'd feel pretty stiff to be given out to something like that, though [referring to the Craig lbw DRS call].
Why? Sweeping an off-spinner bowling around the wicket when it pitches in-line. You're asking the ump to make a decision - a little bit of turn and you're out, if it slides on you're OK. IIRC some coaching manuals recommend only sweeping if ball is pitched outside the line.

Edit - See Voges sweeping a minute ago, got outside the line of off stump so no chance of lbw.

Richardson unleashing about the Basin's stand that can't be used but can't be knocked down  I remember Heath explaining that to me when I went to the Basin a couple of years back.

Now blaming it on left wingers  Ian Smith is baffled by this rant

Argh, Anderson's such a rubbish bowler in tests. Not nearly good enough to fill the 5th bowler role when our spinner is already a passenger.

Six overs in a row that there has been a boundary of 5th or 6th ball. Is good test match batting. Defend or push singles, wait for the loose ball and take the boundary.

Just got home having missed the day so far. Kind of had this horrible feeling we may have gone wicketless thus far...sadly this turns out to be true.

We did bat very poorly yesterday, but these green wickets which flatten in about 5-6 hours favour the team winning the toss far too much IMO. Not helped by the fact we always seem lose the toss on such wickets :p Not the first time this has happened in the last few years and almost cost us the series win vs. India in '14 if it wasn't for the Bmac/Watling epic WR partnership.

Have there been much in the way of chances today or have Khawaja and Voges just been too good for us?

On one of the recent cricket sadist hour pods, Jarrod Kimber was talking about how all-rounders are usually a Botham or a bit of a joke, with very little in between.

Marsh isn't quite Botham yet...
