Seems to be that teams are finding it tougher to bat out day 4 in comfort like they have in seasons past. Good stuff from the curators.

That was a fantastic return from injury by Kugs. 8 wickets. With a side strain - for a fast bowler - I assumed that would be his season gone.

Kugs top wicket taker currently, and Popli top run scorer.

Can anyone tell me more about Ed Nuttall? The last time a domestic player was bigged up this much he turned out to be Matt Henry. I've heard "future ATG Ed Nuttall" a few times, and he does have a FC average of 26 and a List A average of 19. He also looks a bit like Dan Carter which is a good omen.

Look forward to following the upcoming Hawke Cup challenge match. It would be a bit of a shame for Buller to lose it straight away but it would be cool for another small association in North Otago to take it from them. Oamaru is probably my favourite place to play cricket in New Zealand. Helped that I played for Valley and we had the Weston domain as home ground.

Kippax has some quality footage of him floating around somewhere. Doubt he's at Henry's level, he wasn't bossing the domestic scene at 20 like Henry did, and my use of the term "future ATG" was meant to be very tongue in cheek. But he does look to be the best of the emerging bunch imo. Reasonable pace (probably mid-high 130's), swing accuracy and bounce. Probably looking like a better backstop for Boult than Wheeler (especially given Wheeler's injury record).

The story of Nuttall so far, in three videos....

Nuttall looks ****ing rapid (definitely quicker to the eye than his new ball partner Henry) with sharp swing when he pitches it up. How the **** does he not have a stupid record like The Peoples Bowler?

I'm calling Nuttall to be Boult to Henry's Southee. Less hype as a youth cricketer, less early domestic ridiculousness and a later debut but will arguably be better in international cricket when he gets there, not to mention the obvious bowling style likenesses.

Henry only got hype on here tbf. Southee was one of a kind - Boult, Bracewell and Henry weren't newsworthy. Wagner got plenty of press because he was from South Africa and therefore must bowl 145kph and then after him the next most hyped recent bowler was probably Mitch McClenaghan, who again was meant to be fast but isn't.

Milne just kind of appeared as a raw 17 year old thrown in against Pakistan after making some South Africans run away from him in one Champions League over and he developed in the public eye, kind of like Southee.

logan van beek was the only bowler from the 2010 group to get any interest from howsie before the tournament.

then wheeler, small, dougeh, dane watson and corey j graced our screens

He's not. Clocked in at 133-135 on the slow gun in the Ford Trophy final.
