***Official*** India in Australia ODIs 2016

This Australian team is so strong, can see them dominating ODi cricket for years to come.
Pretty sure we would be saying the exact opposite if this series was being played in India and India were chasing down 350 with relative ease. Wait, it already happened, about 2 years ago.

not really. When Aus have played ODIs in India the series have genuinely been pretty close. Not sure if I remember correctly but Aus have probably won at least half of them and if they lose it's 3-2 or something like that.

When India tour Aus it's a pretty much always 5-0, 4-1 or something like that.

Nah, a) that was 2 years ago and not now b) Aus would get enough from their spinners and have quality pacers so would bowl much better.

Yeah... in all the bilateral ODI series India have played in Australia over the years... Oh wait.

If you want to be a condescending **** of a poster with no idea of what the game is about, at least try to get your facts right.

The only guy resting from this series is Hazlewood, right? The rest are injured. So if this series did happen in INdia, it is easy to say they most likely would get pasted, esp. given that our spinners have gotten miles better than the last time they played against Australia in India.

But did it take you this series to figure out our bowlers are that bad? This is the best we have and they are THAT bad. Nothing is going to change, except in conditions with more purchase for spinners where ASh and Jaddu can give you 20 decent to good overs both in terms of getting wickets and not giving away runs. The batting, on the other hand, can. We have good batsman with reasonable upside. We packed the batting strength of the side today to help us shoot for 330 and all we got is lesser than Gabba and WACA. Bowlers' problem is ability, batsmens' problem is attitude. You can see why people want to go for the second one.
I don't know what MCG you think 330 is par at but its not that one. Batting was fine today. Dhawan clearly wasn't in form so it took a while for him to get going and he got out at a bad time, but you don't just get 330 on the MCG with a better attitude.

Australia do have a crazy strong side though. Reckon when playing at full strength (I am counting out Pattinson and Cummins due to them being injured more often than I post here)..

Warner
Finch
Smith
Bailey
Maxwell
Marsh
Wade
Faulkner
Starc
O Keefe / 3rd seamer
Hazlewood

With Khawaja and S Marsh as reserves along with other blokes. They will have a great chance simply because of the depth they have. They can literally afford to carry 4 batsmen and 3 bowlers who can be out of form with the sort of back up they have with the make up of the above side. Still think they will struggle in the SC but that is still some depth.

I never said 330. I am not even specifying numbers here. Just that they could have hit the accelerator earlier than they did. Wasn't it at the WC that Kohli said our batsmen are looking for more sustained aggression than just smacking it at the end? That is really all we are saying our batsmen should do. Look for 7 or 8 an over in the middle overs itself (one boundary risk per over) given that we do not have batsmen capable of going for 10+ an over at the slog since our bowling is pretty **** and it needs all the help it can get to even make it competitive, including much better fielding.

Anyways funny how everyone talks about the guys out injured for Australia but we are missing 2 of our best bowlers from the WC as well to injury. Not that I think it would have made a HUGE difference but do think we would have at least saved 1 target of the 3 with Shami and Mohit around.

It feels like they're playing with at least12 players having Faulkner at 8. Handscomb in place of Wade would make this team even stronger.I'd have Hastings or Coulternile as my third seamer.Lyon ( 12th man) should be the spinner I reckon.

ugh. What I said was absolutely correct. Who cares if it's been bilateral series or tournaments. India's been involved in several tri-series in Australia and hardly won a game against Australia.

If you have something sensible and not completely idiotic to say then do it, if not just be quiet. Seriously.

People talk about accelerating earlier, but there is also a distinct possibility of ending up with 255 all out or 265-9 off 50. I really can't complain too much about us getting consistent 300ish scores on foreign tracks.

can't wait to see what they do with the squad for the next couple of ODIs.

i imagine they'll also be naming the squad for the T20Is when they name the next ODI squad
