If maxwell ever harnessed the talent he has with a sensible head (don't worry, he won't) he could be one of he greatest players of all time, in any format. He's crazy talented.

With that we get to enjoy two dead rubber matches. The sort of thing that makes bilateral series so compelling...

lynn averages 44 for qld

maxwell averages 43 for vic

they never really gave him a shot in the top 5, after briefly discussing it, though
He'd make a perfect number 5. Voges, just do the polite thing and retire, naming Maxi your successor.

They won't pick Marsh and Maxwell in the same team, his best bet is to try to displace Marsh.
I don't think Maxwell will benefit from seeing himself in a battle for the number 6 spot with Marsh. As clearly Aus selectors have a thing for a fourth seamer at 6. Which Maxwell can't provide obviously.

Whatever it takes!!!
yep, I don't care if your batting line-up "only" scored 300 against a bunch of 18 year olds, once you've got the 300 your bowlers should be able to make it tight.

If the one thing people talk about on this tour is India's inability to accelerate in the last 20 overs then Indian cricket isn't going to get anywhere.

But did it take you this series to figure out our bowlers are that bad? This is the best we have and they are THAT bad. Nothing is going to change, except in conditions with more purchase for spinners where ASh and Jaddu can give you 20 decent to good overs both in terms of getting wickets and not giving away runs. The batting, on the other hand, can. We have good batsman with reasonable upside. We packed the batting strength of the side today to help us shoot for 330 and all we got is lesser than Gabba and WACA. Bowlers' problem is ability, batsmens' problem is attitude. You can see why people want to go for the second one.
