Ishant looks like an ugly Ibrahimovic. And Ibrahimovic himself is ugly.

Australia trolling India so hard, picking basically bad and really bad fast bowlers and still winning comfortably.

This is actually one of the funnier Maxwell innings. Just trying so hard to get himself out.

Complete with suicide single to finish, hahaha

Looking at the scorecard, you might think that Maxwell played sensibly and intelligently to get the team home for a change

But no, he literally could have been out 6 or 7 times

Whatever it takes!!!
So was Shaun Marsh.

But it just shows you how dire India are in LO cricket. Like someone pointed out the other day, the IPL and the sheer volume of international cricket we play has meant that none of our first choice batsmen can bowl to any decent level, none of our first choice bowlers can bat well enough to justify the main batters going hell for broke any earlier than the 40-45 over mark and there is the age old issue of Indian fast bowlers not being disciplined enough. Add to it whatever time it takes Ashwin and Jadeja to figure out the best length for these conditions, and its doubly hard for them given they are generally following up the 2 loose balls an over Indian seamers, it is an impossible ask.

If you ask me, we can give our best shot for this WT20 but a complete overhaul under Kohli and Shastri is required for BOTH our LO squads. Maybe we need to get Ashwin our main test bowler and only use him for the big tourneys and series in India. I am just wondering if India will be better served with Gurkeerat and Rishi Dhawan coming in for AShwin and either Umesh/Ishant. I would honestly think we need to try and replicate the Aussie template of 4 batsmen (would be great if a couple of them can bowl decently on a bad day for the other bowlers), 4 all rounders (including a wicket keeper and a spinner or two) and 3 fast bowlers (hopefully at least 1 can handle the bat in case of a collapse).

Given that the existing bowlers have now shown us over a period of time that they are not anything special and are not world beaters, we should honestly just shoot for such a combination. Post WT20 and hopefully MSD's retirement, a side like this will look good.

Rohit
Uthappa (wk) / Dhawan
Kohli
Rahane
Raina / Uthappa
Gurkeerat
Jadeja
Binny/Dhawan/Pandya
3 from the wheel (Bhuvi, Umesh, Shami, Ishant, Aaron, Sran, Mohit)

If we can somehow get Irfan Pathan back fit and firing, that will make it ideal, given the next WC will be in England.

This is why I don't want Ishant Sharma to play ODIs ever. This really destroys his confidence and he may carry that into test matches in future.

Really not surprised I got back to this. Our batting was decent but decent with our bowling lineup doesn't win you matches.

Agree with what Spark said, Smith's a seriously good middle overs bat.

Also, it's nice to see Bailey up his average against India to what must be close to 90 now.

Circumstances? He got given two 300+ scores to defend.

But agree he's not disgraced himself in his first couple of games.
First ODI they were 40 runs light and today 20ish. Add in the fact the rest of the bowling attack filled with senior players was very poor I think he has done ok.
