Fair play to him for sticking it out, tbf. Could have just gone on the slog, but ground his way through it.

He's certainly hit a lot straighter in the last 5-10 overs.

I've seen him play a similar dig to this before, but I'm trying to remember when it may have been. Don't think it was a WC game. Might have been last year's series against India beforehand.

He actually played quite a scratchy innings in the semi-final. Slow, but in support of Smith who obvs was going like a train, was fair enough.

Was the WC, made 80 off 100-110 odd and was utter piss early on but put on that good stand with Smith

That was it, cheers. I was there, but the Missus and I were hooking into prawns, oysters and champagne in the new Noble Stand and I wasn't really watching.

There's actually a great story to that game which I cannot repeat on a family forum.

Nah he never got good in that innings, just stayed slow and out of form the whole time
Yeah it's not the innings Burgey is thinking of, but it's an example of him just remaining slow the whole time. EDIT: Ha, maybe it is.

Rahane is a gun fielder.

I wonder when they're going to stop saying "Smith is in incredible form" and just start saying "he's an incredible batsman"

can't be far off
