Eden Park has permanent Max Zones anyway. Well, the can't get out part, but not double the runs.

The rules of Under-19 cricket mean you can play in tournaments and matches if you are 19 at the start of the year iirc.
Definitely not. It's UNDER-19, so that usually means 18 or younger at the start of the season (which is usually some point prior to the start of the season like September or June).

So in Gaffaney's case, he turned 19 around the start of the 1994/95 season so was probably fine for that, but certainly not the next season.

All I can think of is some sort of rule where they were building towards a tournament and it was "under-19 at the start of the tournament cycle" or perhaps it was the NZ U-19 side from 1994/95, or the 1995 winter sticking together to play another series the following year?

A Youth ODI was U20s back in Gaffneys day.

Eg the first youth World Cup in 1988 was under 20s. Not until the late 90s when the second World Cup was organised, and it became a regular structured ICC thing, that it became U19s.

Doubt they'll be getting back out on the field in Wellington tonight. Will be interesting to see whether Welly are ahead or behind on DWL.

Damn, was selfishly hoping ND would lose out and miss the top 4. Still two games to go, but it is close in that bottom 3.
