Debuts & Retirements draft

Fun draft idea, enjoying this.

Just a question, are current players who are yet to play a Test this year, going to be considered 2015, while the XI who played for Eng, SA, WI and Aus listed as 2016?

Well both JC and morgieb have timed out. So Monk (yeah, you're still Monk, Monk) can pick.

I suspect I may have ****ed myself over with my first pick. Anyway.....

Good question Nufers. Unfortunately, that's a flaw with this draft. I'm just hoping people will pick sensibly so we can avoid any possible problem down the line. I'll be relying on other people's feedback if & when someone picks a non-retired player before round 11.

Think if you pick a player who hasn't retired yet from test cricket (regardless of when he last played), you have to go back to 1877.

Yeah that sounds fair. Will definitely dissuade people from going too nuts early on.

Any more thoughts on this pplz?

Yh, that's fine - unretired players would still be considered 'active'. Can avoid a situation of cheap picks - i.e. someone picks either Asif or Amir, and then subsequently get a player like TPC in the following round.

I would also suggest to start R3. It's because of JC that the draft is held up. He can make his picks whenever he comes back online.

Nope. Uncertainty over your position in the next round contributes to your pick in this one.

Sweet, yeah, the situation you described would indeed be a bit dodge.

I'll start R3 once AndrewB picks, he still hasn't timed out yet. JC can pick whenever he gets the chance, no need to wait for him. Hopefully we'll hear from them soon.

Something I just realized: Whilst being lower down the order in R3 might seem like a disadvantage at face value, it will actually make your R4 pick alot easier cuz you can just steal players from other people's noses once the time comes. In fact, a double pick in this draft is very powerful.

Yup. Double picks are huge here. People in the middle of the draft order can have their plans get royally screwed up.
