Those $1.44 odds on the draw that lasted for like 1 minute when Taylor went out look so tasty now #hindsight

Covers off.

And yeah chasing in a test match where there are no short boundaries, no fielding or bowling restrictions is miles harder.

Good partnership between these two. Bairstow becoming a valuable batsmen for the team. Just hope he can undergo a Prior like improvement in his keeping as him at 7 is a really solid spot for him.
He's been our most consistent batsman on this tour, and all of his innings have been exactly what we needed in the circumstances.

Geez even 150 in 20 overs on day 5 would take moon balls to chase.
Not sure about that. The top 5 could have a bash and if it doesn't come off the others wouldn't haver long to bat out for the draw.
In any case, there are way more than 20 overs to be bowled at this stage.

Game is over. Saffa can't bowl seamers because of the light.

If England bowl they instantly hand the ball to Broad and walk off.

Michael Holding was saying this pitch was okay, its not the pitches fault England dropped 100 catches.
I mean, it is pretty obviously favouring the batsmen. England scored the 2nd quickest 600 ever. But yeah if we field halfway competantly and we still likely bowl SA for around 400 at most.

In the hypothetical situation where sa is chasing over a 120 in 15 overs or a t20 run chase, i think the responsibility would fall on pretty much the openers... One or two wickets in the first three overs and the chase will be off.

Yep may as well draw. Our seamers havent really looked like taking wickets since the early swing... And elgar and piedt is not troubling these guys at all.

It's not exactly great but England definitely could have induced some of this panic their batsmen ended up getting if they took their chances.

Just a bit. A 200 run lead, batting with far more freedom on Day 4 and SA having to face up to the 5th day pitch.

Anyway, you generally get what you deserve. England didn't field well enough to deserve to win, end of.

Ran out of time but SA will take lots of positives into Joburg. The way the boys fought back from where they were on day 2 was fantastic.
