Root is normally a very good slipper, so not going to pretend it is a long term issue with him. Just a real gut wrencher though.

Cook puts Taylor in an unorthodox fielding position, South Africans in commentary box are baffled. Most amusing.

Excellent from Amla.

The AB drop is getting more annoying.
Especially as we seem to be feeling morally obliged to give him a life every innings at present.

Having just switched back on, the declaration is looking as bad an idea as I thought at the time. Surely there was a case for keeping SA in the field for another our or two before unleashing our boys at them.

What makes you think these would have batted any worse had we had declared later?

If I was being greedy I'd have liked one more wicket but we're a great position. And I reckon if we get one of these two, then we can run through the lineup.

They had more than enough runs, and they knew they are going to need time to bowl out South Africa. They would have liked them one or two more wickets down obviously, but South Africa still have a lot of work to do to get to safety, one more wicket and you are into an out of form Faf and bavuma.
