I interpreted those comments as him subtly giving an excuse as to why MacGill outbowled him on several occasions.

"Second spinner should do better because of helpful conditions etc."

SOK's career a bit of mystery for mine. Can't help but thinking he must be an absolute **** that no one wants to play with.

They never selected him when they should have for years and now only do when they pretty much have to, and then today they probably won't bring him on until after lunch

Nah I just think it's aesthetics tbh. If you watched all the domestic spinners bowl in the nets without knowing how they performed in Shield matches, O'Keefe would probably be the last one you'd pick out. This has been the case for most of his career. He keeps proving people wrong but the Australian selectors have never really been particularly performance-driven, particularly when it comes to bowlers.

Indeed. Long time since we've seen a dry SCG turner..........so what comes first? The dry turning wicket then the selection of 2 spinners or the 2 spinners then the dry wicket? Would we be seeing this if Pakistan were touring?

It doesn't matter what's turned out when Pakistan tours Australia. They turn into this West Indies team standard when they come here, like Australia does when it goes to the UAE.

He was good on Foxtel too. Perfect example of Nine giving someone a ridiculous role that us cricket tragics don't appreciate.

I don't think we can blame that for this though. That was just classic Slater awkwardness haha.
