FWIW I definitely think if England were bowled out now and SA blocked it immediately they'd be making a mistake. They're more likely to make 405 than they are to survive 150 overs, blocking or not IMO.

Great knock from Bairstow. Clearly our best Test match wicket-keeper batsmen at the moment, hope this puts the Buttler talk to bed for a while. Hope a hundred comes soon for him, and I think he should be moved up to 6. He has now been stranded essentially and had to slog in both innings, Stokes having done nothing aside from a few flash in the pans to justify the 6 spot at the moment.

Its comforting that our runs thus far have come from some of the guys who have just come back into the side although we're going to have to wait and see on Hales.

I wonder if Bairstow has been told he has the full series to nail down a place for next year as he looked far more comfortable from ball 1 in both innings than in any previous game when he may have felt he was always playing for his place in the side. No idea if this is true but he has played very well this test and long may it continue.
