***Official*** England in South Africa 2015/16

I'm predicting this to turn out like NZ/Aus. England to get smashed initially, and by the time they find their feet they'll already be 1-0 or 2-0 down in the series.
Doubt it will be like that. England have had good preparation, Philander is out and Steyn just back. Not to mention SA have an awful recent record at Durban. If we lose here and/or at Cape Town I don't see us doing anything significant in the final two tests. More likely to be the pattern of England in SA last time, or India in England in 2014 IMO.

Toss could be important tomorrow as first day by reports will be cloudy with some chance of thunderstorms.

Eyes not spreadsheets
Him and Jordan couldn't even get Indian batsmen out in English conditions, only at their third attempt did they pick up some 'meaningful' wickets, by which time India's batting mentality had already took the plane home.

Consistency is exactly the thing the selectors don't show. Plunkett has somewhere, somehow been leapfrogged by Woakes (and Jordan) when they've been toilet.
What, you mean the Woakes that was ahead of him until he got injured? Can't believe that they've waited for him to be fit then recalled him, that would almost be showing consistency

Norwood's on Fire
Had very little sleep last night but with tomorrow being the #1 football day of the year I won't see much as it is, so contemplating the early alarm tomorrow

My early prediction is England to win at a canter

Good odds for some engine room activity at No. 9 from Woakes, Cribb?

Not sure I like the idea of relying on a 9th wicket "I'm here for you mate!" innings from Broad, but I know Woakes can be quite stylish in conjuring up some improvised 4s and 6s, from his short stint for Wellington.

South Africa tests are the best because of the timezone. I usually get home just after play starts and then it's a whole evening of test cricket goodness. **** NZ and Australia.

Usually a good balance between bat and ball as far as the pitches go too, and South Africa play good cricket but don't seem to have a dominant home advantage. Probably my favourite place for Test cricket. If only the commentators were a bit better.

Even the commentators though bad, are still better than their Australian/Indian/Nz counterparts imo.
