***Official*** West Indies in Australia 2015/16

Cricket, Lovely Cricket
Saw the NSW contingent from the test team at the airport this week and there's little wonder why CA is worried about Haze's durability - guy is a stick insect!

If I didn't know who he was and was told that he was a sportsman, I'd have guessed that he was college basketballer who needed to grow taller and pack on some muscle

Warner was the other interesting one - he's short, skinny and totally unintimidating

How he has gotten away with sledging is beyond me
At least he has a smooth action. I wish he can continue for long. Really enjoy watching him bowl.

Sad to see how weak both these teams are compared to their previous sides in the past twenty years. Poor quality. Why invite West Indies for a three match test series? knowing they only have one test win against the major sides since 01. Surprised! despite that pathetic record, they still get invited by pretty much every nation for matches. You cry out for Zimbabwe's and Bangladesh's test status, but why not West Indies? hypocrites.

ugh. Troll harder.

No team in modern cricket is even close to how good Australia were in the 90s/00s. And this Australian team is as good as any in World cricket.

Disappojnting that there has been little interest in the game against the Vic XI.

At least the top order all has a decent hit.

Unfortunately the second day was ended by rain.

Roach and Taylor didn't have much of bowl.

I was going to post the match report just for that woeful dropped catch that was reported.

Figured everyone rightly cares more about the Big Bash at the moment.

Vic XI had about 8 masseurs in their team, not many actual first class players, and struggled to get past 300.

Captain Jason Holder bowled a bouncer to Jake Hancock, who was on 22, which the opening batsman hooked straight to fine leg. Or at least, to exactly where fine leg Jerome Taylor should have been standing, instead of leaning on the fence outside the rope with his back to the game.

So bad you can't look: Windies reach new low

Send anyone who doesn't want to be there home and scour the islands for men, women and children who at least care.

Even in club cricket you would be pissed as a teammate. I don't even know what to say when a pro acts like that.

They are so poor. Have Pakistan given up touring to Australia and England? They would be so much better than this sorry lot.

Pakistan tour Australia next season along with South Africa. I think Pakistan are going to England mid-2016 too. Dont quote me on that.

i'm on retain Marsh, drop burns camp but i just don't get why Usman should open. Didn't Smith earlier said that he is pushing down to #4 to spread experience and i really liked having Khawaja first drop and Smith second.

No 3 gets injured and replacement scores runs at 5. No 3 is now fit so they want to drop an opener and make 3 open just so 5 can stay. Lol.

People make runs when someone's injured and still get dropped when that person is fit. That should apply here. This was always the issue with picking Darsh. He is favored so scoring runs was going to put Voges or Burns in trouble. Burns spot should all about what he has done opening this summer not about 2 innings from a middle order replacement.

Agree Tangles Burns better play. Marsh has scored what, 50 odd runs in 4 completed innings against non WI attacks. He hardly excelled in Adelaide because that first innings dismissal was horrible. The 49 was good, not great. I think Burns has some flaws in his technique, but lets see if the selectors are true to their word and go the younger option when in doubt.

Yep I don't think Burns has done badly enough to be dropped. Facing the new pill is a pretty different prospect to coming in at 5 against probably the most wayward, meekest and heartless attack in world cricket (the Zimbos would show more fight) missing the quick who showed the most heart for most of the innings. He hasn't converted since Brisbane but has mostly done the job and put on a partnership with Warner so he can hardly be thought of as a failure at this point. If the selectors didn't think he was the best long term option partnering Warner then why select him instead of going with Bancroft or Marsh? They made the call and he's been ok so they need to stick with that call and give the guy a chance to get himself comfortable in the role.

Marsh did what you'd hope he would coming in, but Usman has to come back in at three after Brisbane and Perth and his BBL game and Marsh was only in to replace him, so back out he goes.

I don't think Burns is a Test opener, but dropping him here would be patently ridiculous. He got the gig partnering Warner because they thought he was the best long-term option; runs to Shaun Marsh shouldn't change that at all.

If he was averaging 20, fine, move him on. But he's averaging 40. If he's dropped for Boxing Day, it smacks of the "screw that he's our best option, you've gotta have time in the wilderness if you want to be a Test bat" Greg Chappell thinking that most obviously failed with Phillip Hughes.
