Southee deserves a bag after being our best bowler by far this year without the rewards.

Southee was cr*p in the tests against England, was ok against Australia but at Adelaide bowled into the pads and was carted in the carnage that followed the Lyon non-dismissal, then took zero wickets in the last innings when Boult needed support. Averaged over 60 runs per wicket in Aus series. Now he's picked up a leg side strangle and bowled two buffet balls down leg followed up by a wide that was nicked.....
I think he looks better than he has been because overall the others haven't been much chop.

Southee was superb at Brisbane and Perth. He was very unlucky in both tests and had no support.

Lol Ian Smith's Bracewell love is blind as ****. He was dreadful at Perth. Looked good at Adelaide in conditions that were pretty much made for his style of bowling.

Siriwardana looks quite good. Apart from that a pretty sedate period of play. Slow outfield, slow pitch, Boult not at full zip...not as cool as last year #nostalgicalready

I don't hate him. I recognised that he bowled well in Adelaide and he's largely bowled well in this test.

All your praise over the past few months has had a "...but" in it.

You don't have to pronounce him savior or think he's the best of the non-Southee/Boult bowlers but I feel you tend to dig in on players sometimes, like me with Jeets when I'm not just trolling Athlai.
