***Official*** Sri Lanka in New Zealand 2015

The way that Matthews is working Guptill over doesn't make me optimistic for his chances against Aus later this season.
At least he might/may/will convert his starts.

Starting to get really annoyed with Latham. We've got a guy who we all think is technically our best opener since Richardson, and he's showing to be insufficiently mentally strong enough to convert starts - which is denying us the chance to make big totals. Since Pakistan last year, his amount of starts and non-conversions is criminal. And getting out different ways every time. It really makes him no more or less of a disappointment than Gup with a major technical flaw.

Dunno if Cumming your Way, spelled as it is, is a great idea..

And his information is highly dubious. I thought it's called point because that's the direction the batsman's dick points.
Nah, a guy called Cumming would know any dick-based cricket history. Hope Salman Butt doesn't come over for the Pakistan series and form a duo.

yeah it's annoying me too, obviously given I've long rated him so highly.

Don't forget that Kane had the same problems for a while too. He needs to work on his physical and mental fitness.

A late congrats to Wagner on regaining his place in the team. I thought it was probably curtains for his test career when Henry and Bracewell were preferred for Australia. They haven't excelled and more importantly, it seems Wagner has gone away and worked on his game and improved. Hope to see him bowl well in this match.

****, thought this was starting tomorrow for some reason, and missed almost the whole first session. :(

It was the most important session to catch too because it's the only one that won't overlap with any other cricket.

And Latham got out to ****ing Lakmal.

Hating life.

That is true. Both spent a hell of a lot of time at the crease as youngsters, and maybe found it particularly tough to keep doing so as the levels went up? Unsure. It's really something with Latham you'd want to see change in the next 12 months, too many tough series' ahead to be getting out on 20-30 when you've negotiated strong new ball attacks.

Not Terrible
FTR I will be definitely using Lakmal getting Latham out to defend Guptill. I'm not sure how yet. But I will.

Guptill's going to score a double here imo. The more he struggles against difficult opposition/conditions, the more he takes it out on the next easier opposition/conditions he faces (if he survives the new ball). Often that resurgence is limited overs or back playing for Auckland, but have a feeling he's going to take it out on Sri Lanka here.
