Shakib has been the best ranked allrounder in the world for ages now. 4 years in Test cricket and 6 years in ODI cricket. Probably worth something?

Excluding no-rounders like Binny, Is it fair to say that Shakib is the only pure allrounder in the world currently? Everyone else are either batting or bowling allrounders.

You know, you don't need to compensate and overrate him just because he's underrated.
I'm not overrating. He's the only proper genuine all-rounder in world cricket. And there hasn't been one like him for decades. I think he's clearly the GOAT ODI All-Rounder already - who else is better?

And in Tests, he has 5 100 run + 5 wicket (cumulative) matches in just 42 games. No one has had more than 7 (Sobers and Botham), and both of them played more than double the matches Shakib has. He's only 28 with his best years ahead of him, so to say he will retire as the GOAT genuine Test all-rounder is not a stretch by any means.

Not sure about Davidson, but a Test average of 25 isn't too shabby. Also can't ignore a FC average of 32 as it implies some talent with the bat.

FTR, even if I was selecting by merit, there is a decent case to be made for Shakib > Cairns. The gap between them isn't that great, especially when you consider Shakib still has quite a few years left in his career.
