AB has faced 200 balls for 26 runs.

If he was batting in an ODI series he could have scored 500 runs in that many balls.

Wasn't there a match we played in Srl that was abandoned because the pitch was considered dangerous? Ball bouncing off a good length thrice since yesterday.

So can India simply continue to bowl until it gets dark or once the minimum number of overs required are done its a draw?
It'll be when it gets dark or when the time is up. So many maidens from spinners that the allocated overs won't come into it.

Anyone else thinks India should have enforced follow on seeing how things are progressing?

Yadav sounds unpayable atm on Cricinfo comms

Yadav to de Villiers, no run, AB's got smashed on the glove and he has dropped his bat in pain and is walking away from the stumps! The physio rushes out to check on him. There is a swelling. That ball bounced sharply from a full length outside off and smashed into his bottom thumb as he tried to defend. Impossible delivery to play. I hope he hasn't broken it.
In lower grades you would consider banning fast bowling for the rest of the day.

Maybe it doesn't look as bad live,

Jadeja has the second best economy rate ever, but to get the best he'd still need to bowl 29 consecutive maidens.

If he managed that, it would also give him the record for most maidens bowled in a Test innings.

55 overs to go in the day at the very least. Hand him the ball after Lunch and hope to squeeze in a few extra overs before they call it a day...it's definitely possible

So weird how to see so many slow scoring records broken in this day and age.
But as the Nadkarni thing shows, spinners used to get figures like this. They just didn't record the batting speeds in terms of balls faced.

And this sort of scoring didn't used to be reserved for 4th innings rearguard, either.

"There are so many appreciating this batting. However, when in similar situations, bowling outside the leg stump is termed negative and is criticized.... I can't understand why this kinda batting is appreciated."

LOL
