"Why is he fielding"

Because one of your players is injured. Team staff being substitute fielders, whilst unusual, is not new.

it is, however, the first time a teams massage therapist has fielded as a substitute under lights in pink ball day/night cricket.

I don't get umpire's call for whether the ball struck in line.

It is one thing not to trust Hawkeye - just just look at the ****ing TV and make a decision whether or not the ball strikes in line. The ball either strikes the batsman's pads in line or it doesn't.

It was plainly obvious that wasn't fully in line and he would have seen it better than anyone else.

But yeah it was one of those ones that could have gone either way, but seemed foolish to think that was fully inline.
The first replay had it look like it hit him in line to me tbh

The guy scored NZs first triple century. He said this success could partially be attributed to the fact that he can now trust his defence.

He can defend, but his mind isn't in the game anymore.

Why?

1. CC trial
2. Impending retirement.
Yes I hadn't thought about that. Us Kiwis have conveniently blocked out what's going on in England at the moment. The cricketers who are close to the whole CC saga can't though. So you gotta feel for McCullum here.

It's joke shop. Its a multi million dollar professional game nowadays.; You don't get one of your back room staff to field. You have someone on hand.

I thought I read somewhere that Baldwin bowled an over for Australia in a tour match overseas at some point.

Also that Smith was given the choice of some SA second XI players and opted for Baldwin instead
