Wonder if Wagner is bowling himself ahead of Henry here. I managed to miss quite a bit of Henry's bowling in Perth though I got the impression there were a couple of promising spells but generally a mixed bag.
I still believe Henry is a huge talent so it will be infuriating if he takes the Southee route to success through 2+ years of sub-mediocrity.
If he ain't got that swing then he ain't got a thing. Doug's phantom swing was bigger than Henry's at the WACCA.i reckon he might straw man, it's a tough ask to go from the shield to test cricket and succeed immediately. at least we're in a position where we don't have to play him like we were with southee, and he can step down a level.
i wonder if odi bowling (which he's quite good at) plus his third seamer role change are affecting him?
i can't see henry not clicking with a loud clunk one day. he's got everything except extreme pace and he's no dibbly dobbly on the speed gun.
Like that suggestion. I think the players would really look up to him.if mascarenhas doesn't work out (and it's early days) then i have an idea, but try not to laugh too much.
maybe danny morrison? when he talks bowling technique on commentary he's really really good. simon doull is another but i get the impression he's comfortable doing his media stuff. pretty sure morrison has mentioned having a few chats with the NZ swing bowlers when they're in Asia.
Morrison, just so I don't hear him aiming for 4 different octaves just to say PaKIstANif mascarenhas doesn't work out (and it's early days) then i have an idea, but try not to laugh too much.

edit - @ cane - he's got bounce and used to have great accuracy in the corridor. his length appears to have been adjusted back from his shield days and i wonder if that's brought in the one four ball and over stuff.
everything is there.
Actually that whole situation was heart wrenching. BFP will know the inside news but obviously can't tell us on the Internet or b) due to breaching confidences.Vaughn Johnson No shouldn't say that he is a nice fellow.
Please Danny we'll bowl any way you want for the love of god if you'll just stop talkingmaybe danny morrison?
see TIMMEH the KEY is to BOWL the ball in that CORRIDOR of UNCERtainty. THE BATSMAN, gets a little TICKLE, and on his wayPlease Danny we'll bowl any way you want for the love of god if you'll just stop talking
Genuinely don't believe he's that bad when commentating on tests, and his T20 commentary borders on "so bad its good" status.I'm probably in the very small minority of people who actually doesn't mind Morrison as a commentator. He's like a cricket version of Scotty 'Sumo' Stevenson/Jason Costigan where you either love them or can't stand them.
I just continue to think that Henry is poorly suited to the 3rd seamer's role, and so will struggle to get a gig in the test side while Southee and Boult are around. We've seen the results of his attempts to transform himself into a back of a length 3rd seamer this year, and they haven't been pretty.Wonder if Wagner is bowling himself ahead of Henry here. Scott Stevenson is ****ing awful. Hate his commentary.I'm probably in the very small minority of people who actually doesn't mind Morrison as a commentator. He's like a cricket version of Scotty 'Sumo' Stevenson/Jason Costigan where you either love them or can't stand them.
