hence my point right. This would essentially be an ODI situation suited to him. More reason why we should crush them and not give them a sniff

Let em try to chase 350 in 45 and hope for some Starc madnes

Lalor reporting that Johnson is on the verge of retirement, in no small part because he cbf bowling on the pitches curators have served up in Aus during the last year.

Whoever suggested that Taylor should get his eyes tested was a ****ing genius.

It was actually vic_orthdox who first raised it almost a year ago...and I'm claiming to be the second man on the scene.

Funnily enough I do the "opening my eyes wide all the time and feel like I'm not *quite* seeing the ball properly* thing too, and noticed a subtle, hard to explain change in my vision about a decade ago...I think Ross Taylor may have just diagnosed my problem

Be one hell of a flounce if so. This pitch isn't that different to the pitches produced for the last two Ashes series. 517/1, anyone?

Two things have changed this season - bowlers have flagged and the balls haven't been up to scratch

Yeah it's not the pitches' fault he's gone from bowling 155 to 135

In fairness, reading closer that bit of the article is Lalor pontificating/speculating a bit. But it's no real surprise to anyone who watched his bowling or his body language that he's on the precipice.

On the one hand Guptill's best chance at success is undoubtedly to see ball hit ball in tests - even though it won't work as the bowlers in tests are better than those in ODIs, at least his attacking shots might put them off their lengths.

OTOH his 20 (60) has been pretty consistent and valuable in shielding KW from the new ball.

On the third hand, someone able to punish bowlers for bowling leg side balls would be nice for the Latham partnership and is kinda the while point of the LH RH partnership.

Yeah, I'm gonna go full ****** and blame Latham's 30-60 scores on Guptill too. Suck it Flem.

If MJ cbf anymore and his bowling speed is a reflection of that and not a niggle then he should retire. The pitch in Roadelaide and the ones for WI are unlikely to be enjoyable for him.

Amazing some of the things that get picked up on here, let's hope the floodgates open for Ross with clear eyes.

Would definitely go Patto except for the fear in the back of my head that he might not be quite up to 5 days on a Road.

Therefore the answer is D.E.B.

If Johnson's hunger for broken ****ing arms is gone, he should retire now.

I think Siddle would be a good choice for Adelaide. We'll be able to see if he can run in all night.

I would have been comfortable with giving Behrendorf a cap, but he missed this Shield round.

Suspect so. We'll see Siddle in.

Probably means they won't rest Hazlewood though. If we do rest him then barring risking Patto I'm not sure who'd be next in line.
Them resting Haze is why I think Patto should come in as well.

Smith has no obligation or reason to 'make a game of it' today

The Channel Nine commentators in particular should shut up

This is a flat pitch, we're 1-0 up, and we're not bowling particularly well

But what happens if it looks like we aren't prepared to lose to win?

Its a fate worse than death really.
