Would've kept NZ out there if I were Smith. Nothing like an arsey 10th wicket partnership to break the spirit of the opposition completely.

So he's obviously a better batsman... but will somehow average less?

Ok.
There are lots more important things than technique. I don't think my technique has always been perfect, and it's still not perfect. There's still areas that I can work on. But I feel comfortable. And that's the most important thing. So I think technique is not that important. There are a lot of other areas of your game that are more important. Why do you get out sometimes? Why do you perform sometimes? That's much more important than technique.

What is a reasonable par score to expect on this track from NZ here with scoreboard pressure etc? 300-350?

Well that was good from NZ. Could easily have been 650 even 700
tbf to aussie 600 is hard even from that platform. the guys still in are tired and the guys to come have to keep the run rate going and stay switched on watching for the good ball.
