**Official** New Zealand in Australia 2015

Yeah how dare people not want to go and get murdered by people deliberately targeting high-profile Australian nationals in a country with constant violence.
South Africa were there too recently if "high profile" is what you're after. Zimbabwe are there right now. India and Pak were there who are high profile teams as well.

Did you not notice the word Australian in there?

Travel Advice for Bangladesh - Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade

There is reliable information to suggest that militants may be planning to target Australian and Western interests in Bangladesh.
Oh, and,

On 24 October, several homemade explosive devices were thrown into a large Shia gathering in Old Dhaka, causing one fatality and injuring many. Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) has claimed responsibility. A Japanese national was murdered in Rangpur on 3 October and an Italian national was murdered in Gulshan, Dhaka, on 28 September. ISIL has also claimed responsibility for these attacks. If confirmed, these attacks further highlight the credible and serious nature of the terrorist threat in Bangladesh at this time. See Safety and security.
But clearly you know what you're on about. Obviously it isn't the threat of being slaughtered by ISIS affiliates, it's just them being scared of the terrifying Bangladeshi bowlers, right?

dont be hurt that CA awarded the prime summer tests to a superior WI outfit
Haha yeah, that doesn't bother me. The 'superior WI outfit' just makes you look silly. Boxing Day will be a spectacle on the 26th, 27th and possibly 28th for sure.

I've thought Australia were a completely unlikeable outfit for longer than that fixture's been out. Doesn't take away from the fact they're a vastly superior cricket side, but the All Blacks being a far more successful side - and not arrogant tools along with it - proves it's completely unnecessary.

Weirdly NZ has only lost two of six matches at the WACA, won one and drawn three.
While England has lost nine of 12 matches, won one and drawn two.
I suppose the extra bounce at the WACA is more suited to New Zealand compared to some other teams.

Didn't they play one there about 15 years ago? The Warne 99 Test where Lou Vincent made a hundred (or was that a different Test?)
2001 yeah. We scored something like 550, four guys scored centuries and none of the rest made double figures. Nice to cash in on a few starts! That side had a lot of world-class, or nigh-on, guys at the peak of their powers. This one doesn't. I'm not expecting great things on a quick bouncy deck at all.

But what that Test does show is that scoreboard pressure can be an effective bowler as anyone. On a deck we'd scored 550 on, Australia scored 350 when all things being equal, with the line-up they had, you'd expect 500-600 - especially given their dominance in the series to that date. Vettori, of all people on a hard deck not renowned to turn on day 2-3 took 6-for through sheer pressure. We did it in Napier in 2008 too on an absolute road, scoring 600 against an Indian side with all their big guns who only managed 350 against a pop gun attack. So it can be done.

I thought Brisbane was the best chance for us to get a result, and as Hesson admitted we fluffed our lines by being nervous on day one and beyond. Perth was never going to suit us, and who the hell knows what Adelaide is going to offer.

I wonder how good an option Craig is. He bowled poorly in the previous test. The only real reason being given by ***** and PEWS which I read is that if he is dropped, it might shatter his confidence. Given that it is Perth and he is likely to be smashed here too, I would be hesitant to select him.

But image is more important than results, you can't drop him otherwise it'll look like panic rather than dropping an absolutely dire player.

Kane, BJ, Boult, and Baz. Tim hasn't taken a five wicket bag for 2 and a half years at Test level (as much as we like to think he's a superstar, he's not consistent at all), Ross hasn't been world class for a couple of years then you've got a bunch of other blokes who aren't contributing. The 2001 one side was carrying Skippy Sinclair at best. Dunno where the eyebrow-raising comes in.

And talk of dropping Mark is baseless. No one remembers the Test before Brisbane when he dismissed Bell, Root and Buttler in the fourth innings, something a spinner hasn't done for us...since the last time Mark did it v Pakistan...then before than when he did it on debut...then bloody ages before that. He's hardly Robinson Crusoe being wacked on his first attempt in Australia. And there's no alternatives, in any case. Fairly brainless argument.

I can understand you disliking Haddin and Warner, but one isn't in the team anymore and normally we allow special children a bit of leeway.

I dont really understand criticism of the rest tbh.

the australians aren't all bad blokes individually necessarily but their team culture is based around "we'd rather be dicks and win" when there's no reason for those things to go hand in hand other than "cos that's how we do things in 'straya"
