**Official** New Zealand in Australia 2015

Given that he was given the new ball in both warm-up games and proceeded to get utterly spanked, I'm not holding my breath.

Mitch M being sent over? Wtf? I mean, I guess he's had a decent start to the season, but the guy wasn't even selected for NZA and it's not like he's been setting the world on fire in LO lately. He probably won't play so it's not a huge deal, but seriously?
Well he'll playing the limited overs stuff, may as well get that plane ticket covered now.
I suspect he is being sent to spare a youngster getting exposed too soon in a weakened NZ attack, if another injury occurs and he ends up playing he is probably more ready for the mental step up to Tests. Even if he isn't good enough. Wagner/Henry should definitely be playing ahead of him.

There's no limited overs stuff in Australia. It's 3 tests and then back home for the SRL series.

Almost happy to support this. At least Elliot would be able to maintain a decent pitch map.

Elliott broken arm in training earlier this week. Source: Wads, on radio commentary earlier this test, had seen a FB / twitter post.

Well that presumably means he's ready for one, even more perfect to face up to the aussies.

STAT - With 7 wickets left and 98 overs to play, each partnership has to last an average of 84 balls for NZ to get a draw.

STAT.

Gin n' Tonic now pretty much reporting as fact that NZ will go in to the second test with 4 seamers and Santner. Would take it with a pretty hefty grain of salt...can't remember anything specific but pretty sure he has previouslys in terms of reporting team changes that he thought up while on the bog as fact.

Looks like the forecast is getting better and better. If NZ are gonna draw this game they're gonna have to earn it, it seems.

But seriously, I'm trying to understand the McHess logic:

1. Duffy/Milne too young, too injury-prone, not ready yet.
2. Wheeler too much of a swing bowler will get pumped in Aus
3. Gillespie and the old dogs haven't performed in over a season
4. If you're going to be leaking runs, you may as well be McLeakinruns

People would have picked ahead of him:
- Hamish Bennett
- Sam Wells - can bat. Probably will go the same with the ball.
- Scott Kuggs - see above
- Wheeler - would probably get pumped. Suck it up.
