Very early obviously, but if Craig keeps bowling this carp do we drop him for Santner (or fly over someone else) for the second test? Coz this is Bruce Martin v Bangladesh levels of bad.

Well bugger

If you can't get usman khawaja out you may as well not bother.

Feeling a bit less optimistic now, but it will be the hope that crushes the west island

no.

This is day one of a test in Brisbane when his pace bowlers have also been just as poor, bar Southee.

Santner is not much of a bowler either, tbh.

No they haven't. I mean they have been poor, but they haven't been 2 long-hops an over either.

People say this after the first Test of every series Craig plays, I swear. Maybe he should just be left out of all first Tests instead. :p

I think he might be important in Adelaide but I'm not sure he's going to offer a lot in Perth, tbh. He holds his place based on the extra value his batting and catching offers and the fact that he can take a bag of wickets when conditions suit, but he has a long way to go before he build pressure when conditions aren't in his favour, and that's probably not a great thing for a spinner who's going to play half his games in New Zealand.

Tbh the problem was the bowling in the first hour. Not accurate or consistent enough with funky fields. Then letting the pressure off Burns with spin was a mistake. Strike early when conditions favor you at the Gabba or pay.

Very true, but I dunno I tend to think he's looked particularly bad today. The fact that he's picked up about 1/1000 in all FC cricket this season doesn't fill me with confidence either.

Not particularly looking forward to enquiries from the Australian slips about broken arms and mccullum being all nice about it at the presser so turn this around before I next check the score thanks.

Khawaja scoring runs is just mean. Sort yourselves out NZ

2/758 actually

- Should mention that's the entire NZ attack this tour. Craig has 0/202 since arriving in Australia.

Whereas Bracewell, who is probably just as bad if not a worse bowler will only ever take wickets in NZ or NZ-like conditions.

sucks.

Get Duffey.
