reckon Adelaide wouldn't do too badly on that frontI wouldn't mind Manuka if the pitch wasn't so crap. Of course being wholely within NSW might make it a bit easier to take for me and WACA fans might be a bit less keen. It's the one ground where you would likely get a fair crowd no matter who was playing though.
If they did say Manuka it is for Shield finals and CA took charge to improve the square so that it produced a good even pitch with a bit in it for everyone that would probably be the best solution. Hopefully then Canberra could take to it and make it an important part of the calendar like Boxing Day - Melbourne Test, New Year - Sydney Test.
First time in Oz fc historyI wonder when the last time was when a batsman scored 2 centuries on FC debut, Australia or elsewhere.
Fourth player in history to score a century in each innings on first class debut according to Jesse Hogan.I wonder when the last time was when a batsman scored 2 centuries on FC debut, Australia or elsewhere.
Been a while since they saw two good teams playing at the same time.reckon Adelaide wouldn't do too badly on that front
In his last 3 Futures League matches he scored a century, so the talent is there. Only query is his age - in the modern game making your FC debut at 23 seems a little...old? I know Rogers and Voges were in a similar boat, but they had the likes of Langer, Martyn, Katich, Goodwin, Moody, Campbell and Hussey in the way, so the circumstances are different.Well Travis Dean I don't know if you could possibly have announced your arrival more loudly. As much as I hate Mexicans as a rule, a young opening bat who loves nothing better than scoring tons is always a welcome sight. Fingers crossed it's not a one off and you can go on with it. I'll even live with you scoring runs against NSW if you can prove to be a world class Test bat in the future. Will be watching with great interest.
Maybe holding them back until they dominate futures ain't the worst way to go Mr Chappell? In his last 3 Futures League matches he scored a century, so the talent is there. I'm going to go for an average of 33.33 or higher. Generally, I don't think anyone demands a spot in the top 6 of a Shield side with that sort of average, unless they are contributing well with the ball but I think that'll be a solid achievement and tbh looks a way off at this stage. Also, Tassie bats have struggled for the last year and a half so that mark should be enough for him to keep his spot in the side at full strength. What would be decent return for Doran this season given his age?

He shouldn't really be aiming for that average though, first he needs to be able to:
bat a session [ ]
surpass his OD HS of 34 [ ]
make a first class fifty [ ]
be involved in an important 100+ partnership [ ]
respond well from a duck [ ]
hopefully make a ton [ ]
From what I saw he fielded the most balls when Qld were batting as well. !I wonder when the last time a player was on the field for every ball of the match? I remember McCosker did it back in the 80s, but I think Tubby may have done it in a rain shortened Test (v SA at Adelaide?). Doesn't happen often. To do it on debut, bag a couple of unbeaten tons AND win the game for you side - ****ing amazeballs effort.
