He ain't bowling consistently well in FC cricket. That's what we're all so upset about.

Give Bennett a go IMO.

He is picking up wickets, just not too many. I reckon he'll get a bagful soon.
What's very encouraging is the large numbers of overs he's been able to get through. 26 overs in the first innings, which was more than any other bowler. Pretty impressive.

Is he still bowling at top speed? I recall him bowling over 150kph as an 18 year old!

More likely 135-140kph spells, with the difference being that he actually swings the ball now. There's vids of him in this thread from the A tour.

I'm his number one propaganda machine but he hasn't been giving me much to work with lately. I thought he might have reached a new level on the A tour but it seems to be going a bit poo for him now.

He's in the ODI team though and Bruce Edgar wants him to let loose, which considering Bond has always counselled our bowlers to focus on swing and areas first is itstl.

5 years on and we can say with complete confidence, probably for the first time, that Milne is no longer being picked for development/on potential. He's legitimately part of NZ's strongest ODI attack, and is currently the leader of the second string attack touring SA.

He's very consistent with his line and length now. Quite exciting.

Is it true he is bowling 140s mostly and only gunning it when he needs to? If so it might help his longevity.

Remember the days when he used to turn up in threads with a few drinks in his skin to tell us all that Ross Taylor was complete crap and that New Zealand should only be allowed to play exhibition matches.

I dunno, I reckon Scaly was pretty prescient with some of his comments.

Oh noes. NZ world beating awesomeness teenager #107 (as mentioned on CW) in the past 5 years. Forget Pakistan's spot fixing, NZ's incredible talent is the thing that will devastate cricket. Watching their reserve reserve sides utterly decimate every other nation making the game a procession will kill cricket as a spectator sport.

I'll say one thing for him. The man had guts. He waltzed into tour threads and would say his piece and damn the torpedos. Havn't seen the likes of it since.

i don't think bitterness or irrational hatred are commendable. sure as hell are entertaining though. i love a good cartoon villain.

Still jumping the gun ain't we? As much as I like Milne and think he should be our 3rd ODI seamer he has taken very few wickets although his economy rate has been good, he is the anti McClenaghan.

Well it's too early to say how his career will go, obviously, but the point is that we're now not actually speculating whether or not he could be a good bowler. Before 2015 he was very much a hopeful selection, now he's a legitimate, justifiable selection.
