Ok, Sanga coverdrive vs Ponting pull vs Sachin straight drive vs Lara cut.

I might just go for the Sanga coverdrive. Dat bent knee.

The Ponting pull.. Because of how quickly he had to transfer his weight on the backfoot after the initial trigger movement it always seemed impossible to pull it off with the consistency that he had. The most dominant shot in cricket for me.

But I did read a Chanders interview where he said that Lara would control the amount of spin on his cut shot based on the field placements.. If that is true then the Lara cut..

The correct answer was Kohli whip drive. Kill yourself.

Lara cut plz.

Love the Sachin backfoot punch tho. Remember trying that as a kid and hurting my wrist. What a legend.

What did he say?
Was talking about the fact that if SC players don't succeed outside SC, it''s considered a massive black mark for them, while lots of Australian and English cricketers get away with mediocre records in SC. Was also saying that it shows a total lack of understanding of how tough it is to bat vs spin in the subcontinent.

Always fun to listen to Gavaskar when he gets annoyed about stuff like this.

Something along the lines of subcontinent batsmen being subject to a greater degree of scrutiny when it comes to their non subcontinental records as compared to non subcont batsmen in the subcont.
Thanks and yeah that is a pet peeve. Equally applicable to bowlers too..

Sunny is one of a plethora of cricketers/commentators who is often very decent so long as he's not within a couple of hundred kilometres of the channel 9 commentary team.
