Why not use it? Might as well do something while you wait for hawkeye. Better to use all the technology available to help you make the correct decision than making a judgement after one replay.
1) completely useless as it was blindingly obvious on the replay that it hit he pad well before the bat

2) if there was a hostpot on the replay, it would be useless anyway because all it means is the ball hit the bat after it hit the pad

regardless of whether there was a spot or not it would tell us absolutely nothing. Which should have been obvious on the spot to the professional umpires if it was obvious to me.

The front on hotspot camera provided the same evidence as the initial replay, but it was probably a bit clearer because there was a massive white mark on the pad well before any potential one on the bat.

But you still haven't told me what the umpires should have spent their time doing instead, given you have to wait a bit for the ball tracking to be available.

Literally anything would have been more productive

Moeen opening the batting in Tests would be hilarious

He's a decent player but the way he's batted here he looks like a genuine no. 9

Anyway, when was the last time an English side won the Ashes and lost the last test?
86-87 I believe we lost the 5th (or 6th? They did a few 6-test series around then but don't know if that was just over here)

There's no need to dance its coming in about 15 minutes and it could be it for the day.
Forecast is clear after about 3pm isn't it? Mind you if its like the rain we had up here last night even awesome drainage would struggle to get the ground fit to play again today
