Whatever it takes!!!
On the 4 Vs 5 bowlers debate...

If we got a wicket that will swing and seam for the next test (and it is more than likely we will) which side looks better to start the game?

Vijay
Dhawan
Pujara/Nohit
Kohli
Rahane
Saha
Ashwin
Mishra/Bhajji
Bhuvi
Umesh
Ishant

Both Umesh and Aaron have to play on such a wicket. Pick the team that can gobble up 20 wickets for under 250 twice, even if it means playing five bowlers- and Bucky, Ashwin and Mishra can stretch the batting.

The whole 'seam and swing wicket for India' aspect is rather overrated- we often find flat decks, and in some cases, win-the-toss decks which often go against the Indians. The Lankans themselves will be rather suspect against the Indian pacers, especially on a helpful wicket.

Nah Ishant cannot be left out period, the guy has genuinely performed well for us for the last year and a half, even in Australia he was our best bowler despite not doing too well. He's also the fittest of the lot so we need at least one bowler who can bowl those 8-9 over spells putting the ball in one area consistently. Between Umesh and Aaron I'd personally go for Umesh. Aaron has a bit more pace but Umesh has a decent outswinger, so he's a bit more varied in that sense.

How does Kohli suck at the sweep shot? I've never heard it to be a weakness of an Indian batsman before..
If people are going to sweep balls on the line of middle and off, it's going to come off at times but won't come off at times too. He played a superb sweep to Kaushal the other day but missed the one today off similar lines.

Don't see a point in persisting with bhajji tbh. Umesh should get the nod ahead of Aaron. Playing both might be a bit risky. Since Saha is coming good, I think India can persist with 5 bowlers strategy for now. For me the team would be,

1. Dhawan
2. Vijay
3. Pujara
4. Kohli
5. Rahane
6. Saha
7. Ashwin
8. Mishra
9. Shami (fit??)
10. Ishant
11. Umesh

Yea drop Bhajji. 3 spinners is overkill. Bhajji doesn't offer a lot more than Bhuvi or Yadav anyways.

I'd bring in Yadav, Bhuvi and Pujara for Aaron, Bhajji and Nohit.

Don't talk about the lineup for the next match as if we've already wrapped this up, ****s. We've been burned too often recently.

I'm assuming a loss ftr. Sanga 200 Matthews 100 Ishant 3/90 in a typical luckless spell and Bhajji Aaron 0/100 of 30 and 15 overs respectively. We lollapse to about 20 runs short of the target with Rahane stranded on 73* and Nohit chipping a Kaushal fulltoss to midoff for 3 (22). Fatty takes a 5-fer in a glorious return to form.

Is Herath done? Just can't get the ball to nip last two series.
Yeah. Gavaskar and Arnold were saying in the studio he cant get enough pivot because of his back issues. Looks done, hope I'm wrong. SL need Phatty... Kaushal doesn't look ready to step up at all.
