That is one sweet bowling side... If I have to mention one criticism, iti s that yours seems to be the opposite of Mister's... IN that he had rather weak bowling attack for an ATG side and yours is a little too strong on the bowling at the cost of your batting..

Bardsley unlucky not to be in the XI but AB was reluctant to use himself much as a bowler so thinking I might need to give Jaya a game.

Continuing my annoying habit of creating unglamorous sides, but I personally quite like it, full of several of my favourite players. The batting line-up would be difficult to dismiss, and with McCullum at seven, I have the capability to really up the rate when need be. The bowling attack, whilst not featuring any big guns, is nice and varied - right arm seam(?) in Harris, hit the deck stuff in Hall, left arm pace in Vaas, control from Kallis and funky leggies from Grimmett. Lack of an ATG pace bowler, as well as another ATG bat will cost me.

Interesting conversation around who should take the gloves between Flower and McCullum I reckon.

Whilst I know less of Flower in regards to his batting vs his wicket-keeping, I'm fairly sure that McCullum is/was a more dynamic batsman without the gloves, and that's exactly what I want in my XI. Plus he's a gun fielder. Also, I don't really know who is the superior gloveman in terms of technical skill, so I'm looking at the wicket-keeping situation from a batting point of view.

What the hell?! Get WG to open ahead of Amiss!

Yeah Grace isn't going to take too kindly to being told that he's 12th man.
It's easy to forget sometimes how far past his peak he was by the time he played in the tests, and still was one hell of a player. I think Wisdon described him as "a bit rounder" I think, describing his physique delicately

Must admit I don't know much about Amiss. Gotta say, his record is bloody impressive. He's not talked about a lot.

Most famous for his incredible 262 not out to save the 1973-74 Kingston Test vs. the Windies. Very fine player.

Guess as an English opener in ATG discussions he sits behind Hobbs, Sutcliffe, Hutton and maybe Boycott.

Has Fred or anyone written a piece on him?

Alright, I'll put WG to open instead of Amiss. I tend to pick on stats when I don't know about players first hand, so that's why Amiss got in.
