Makes a good deal of sense for them given where they are, very valuable player to have in Div 2, even at that age.

I'm hoping for a C Overton, S Curran, T Curran, J Overton bottom order for England at some point. For one, they are all capable with the bat and all good hitters of a cricket ball. Secondly, it would be carnage in the commentary box if Henry Blofeld was still around to commentate.
Preferably bowling against an Aus side with both Marshes batting.

That being said, I saw three of them (Craig wasn't playing) at The Oval last week, and if Jamie Overton ever gets a game for the national side then we're in real trouble.

Listening to a cracker at the oval. Sounds like a really hard fought game by both sides. Really enjoyed Ansari and Batty bowling to Maxwell and Ballance. Yorkshire with Dernbach still to bowl an over must be favourites.

Yes Dernbach takes out Bresnan

And surrey win.

and haha Gloucestershire win too. Needed 68 off 4 after rain break... and then 6 off 1 at which point Taylor was caught off a no ball( only 3 inside ring) and hit a four off the last ball to win.

Can I get excited about Mason Crane yet?
Sure. Good to see some legspinners getting a chance. Critchley at Derbyshire who is 18 got a four fer as well the other day. Poysden getting a good chance at Warwickshire. Think it's good for England that counties are giving the legspinners a chance. In ODI and t20 cricket legspinners seem to be very valuable right now - and our domestic bats need the opportunity to bat against them.

It's a pretty big statement from Hampshire for Crane to have dislodged Briggs from the 4 day and one day side.

Dunno where it leaves Briggs though when he can't even make the 50 over team. Wouldn't be short of suitors if he wanted to leave but he got married very young so not sure if he would want to leave Hampshire.

Yeah Dawson has played every game since he came back from Essex as well, if he was not around I suspect they might play Briggs and Crane in the 50 over games. Feel a bit sorry for Briggs, they have always been too quick to drop him from the 4 day side but he has not really progressed at all in the last few years.

Briggs is a dart bowler isn't he? Had a few Lions tours but never seemed to bowl well on them.

Yeah, when I've seen him he's always seemed pretty smart and clever, but doesn't really have the tools to attack.

I'm on the cranetrain. 18, spinning it loads and accurate. If anyones at a lose end check out sky sports now.

Glamorgan are absolutely pants though.

Is he spinning it that much, I'm not sure. Got a nice loop though, and seems pretty accurate. I may get on the train when he stops looking about 12.

He's spun a few a long way. Mind you so has Dawson. Tis a bit of a Bunsen.
Yeah that's kind of my thought about it really. Reckon Cosker and the like will be on pretty soon in Hampshire's innings. Hampshire should have probably played Briggs as well

Few bad balls here not helping the train, yet it's expected for someone of his age. Wonder if it's stamina, bowling leg-spin much more physical than finger spin, especially for an amoeba.

However good he is some coach is going to **** him up - his best bet will be to go out and nick a sheep and get transportation to the colonies as his punishment

I go out for an hour, come back to watch Hampshire response and the match is abandoned. WTF?

Yikes apparently Carbs and Adams both smacked on the head from the ball spitting off a length. Throw the book at Glam.

Saw Adams getting hit. Looked a sore one.

There is more than meets the eye to this. It was not the pitch that was originally going to be used. But Sky needed some cricket today due to Aus being unable to bat. Glam thus were leaned on to use a more central (and hastily prepared) wicket so the cameras would be in the right position.

edit: this is according to people on twitter so take with a pinch of salt.
