Quite right. Methinks the commentators are indulging in some pretty lofty wishful thinking with that comparison.thems fighting words towards heef on the johnson v chiggy debate
I was watching some highlights of Aravinda de Silva's batting the other day, and it struck my how similar Taylor's feet movement has become to de Silva's - except slower and less subtle. The similarities are there, though.Review of Taylor's technique coming up shortly.
I love the idea of giving Latham a run. He needs to face as many conditions as he possibly can to develop his test match game. However that is the main reason I can see.I don't know why Latham and Neesham keep getting selected for ODI's.

That push for four had nice feet movement but was very bottom hand oriented, could easily have been mistimed and been caught and bowled. Review still incoming shortly.I was watching some highlights of Aravinda de Silva's batting the other day, and it struck my how similar Taylor's feet movement has become to de Silva's - except slower and less subtle. Lathams game isn't suited for LOI's and with team balance I don't know where you'd have him.lol r u srs
Boundaries look quite big too, I wish we had a few more grounds this size.Fun hearing all these Zim cricket identities on commentary.
Ground looks all right. When it's properly looked after it's one of the nicer venues out there.
I wouldn't have Neesham as first choice in either format.Lathams game isn't suited for LOI's and with team balance I don't know where you'd have him.
As for Neesham, he's done poorly in LOI's so far.
16 ODIs and an average of 14.6.
I'd definitely have him ahead of Anderson in the Test XI though.
Would you have Anderson ahead of him? On slow wickets or wickets with turn I'd go with Anderson, from what I've seen he plays spin better than Neesham and has had more success those types of wickets.I wouldn't have Neesham as first choice in either format.
Munro>>>>>Neesham at ODIs.
My basic issue with Neesham in ODIs is as follows and I hope he still trawls through CW posts and reads this:
Playing both limited overs cricket and two day cricket growing up all us batsman decided if you are going to go for it go hard. There are often no slips in ODIs, so if you have a decent swipe it will go wide of the keeper. Neesham seems to have no specific nuances for his game or adjustments he has made for limited overs cricket and I have seen him on a number of occassions get out to half and half shots. Go hard or go home JimmyGS, Either defend or attack, don't fiddle.
My other issue with him and the reason I said Munro is better, is that Munro is completely selfless and doesn't care if he gets out., He goes all out to get a good SR, while Jimmy will also try to get his eye in and fart around while he first walks out there, even if he is walking out in the 46th over of the game.
I'm not watching a feed right now, so I'm talking about Taylor from the past 6-12 months I guess. Should tune in and see what he's like now...That push for four had nice feet movement but was very bottom hand oriented, could easily have been mistimed and been caught and bowled. Yeah, your 'big crowd' theory hasn't gone to plan.I love the idea of giving Latham a run. He needs to face as many conditions as he possibly can to develop his test match game. However that is the main reason I can see.
Yes he different from the England tour. Ideally you should check him out.I'm not watching a feed right now, so I'm talking about Taylor from the past 6-12 months I guess. Should tune in and see what he's like now...
The annoying thing is he naturally has a beautiful, tall, up-right bowling action, only to often lose shape down the leg-side. Hopefully a small adjustment will fix that, because I love his action.im pretty confident neesh will come good with the bat in odis because it's rare an aggressive and successful test and T20 batsman can't make it in ODIs. the bowling though might take some time.
