I can't believe the suggestions that Haddin, Nevill or Watson should open if Rogers is not fit...Marsh opened in WI and has scored 2 centuries in 2 innings on tour...is there really any decision to make other than that he should probably also replace Voges
Hypothetically, if the selectors were to insist upon selecting Haddin as keeper, I would prefer Nevill stayed in the team even if as opener. Otherwise Shaun Marsh is preferable to me and the obvious choice if another Batsman were to come in, regardless of batting position.

No one has called Smarsh a **** more than me, but he can't have done any more. He walks into the next vacancy in the top 6 no questions.

Watto, is better than Haddin, plus nevil took 7 catches on début.plus he has ability to occupied crease as batsman

Marsh isn't a dominant FC player who inexplicably fails at test level for what it's worth. His FC record was basically just like his test record until recently, inconsistent and pretty mediocre. He's been making a ton of FC runs lately, every reason to imagine he'll do well in tests if he gets picked. Easy decision, picking one of the keepers as a specialist batsman would be ****ing insane.

There are no good options here. We are discussing doomsday scenarios.

How is Ian Healy going to top his Helen Keller remark last test?

Truly a fascinating contest coming up in all aspects.

Agreed. Darsh opening in a potentially overcast conditions against much better bowlers than in the WI is a massive worry. I know both Anderson and Broad have to bowl decently but any movement and he will snick off.

Rogers has to play. Huge hole in the batting without him.
Be such a shame if he does miss out. You get the feeling he may be done for the series if he does miss out too as with what he has and has recently had it might be hard to bring him back in. Would really suck if this is the way he leaves the side and I really hope it isn't.

The guy who suggested dropping Rogers for the Lord's test because he scores too slowly is surely worse.

Given the runs he scored in the last test whilst dizzy, I'm backing him to break Lara's record in the next test by scoring 500 on his own in the first innings. Either that or two ducks.
