i'd say that this is partly because that while they are top test bowlers philander and steyn are average to above average LO bowlers and aren't spectacular in a shorter form, at least of recent.

South Africa's batting lineup has really lost something, from the dominant side that won in England and Australia in 2012. Still have world class players in there but they're back into the pack, on paper at least.

I mean, they've lost Smith and Kallis, it's not exactly hard to figure out what they've lost, but you get what I mean
