*Official* 2nd Test at Lord's

International Debutant
I had read that more English get out to 87 than to 111 and vice versa for the Australians. Had a feeling that Marsh would take more wickets than Starc. Johnson or Hazelwood. So was very worried when Stokes was on 87 and Marsh was bowling. Out. Cook and Stokes were two big wickets.

Did Warner settle down and start batting more assuredly? He looked complete trash again early on in the second dig.
A bit. You could tell he was holding back against Moeen but did still manage to hit some ground drives.

Nah, it's the second innings after his team posted a big total in the first one. You can almost rest assured that he'll be doing fine.

Gave a chance on 0 but was otherwise very good. Bowling was pretty toothless as you'd expect, just going through the motions really, plus it's Warner's favourite batting situation. Averages 55 in the third innings and I'm sure when Australia has a first innings lead it's significantly higher.

New Zealand was fairly comfortable in the end, but yeah Port Elizabeth that World Cup wasn't kind to us.
I remember watching that as a kid. We were like 7 for 80 or something against Shane Bond bowling 150k outswingers. Then the rest of the NZ bowlers had to come on and were pretty average.

Yeah, not many better guys around for taking a first innings lead and quickly turning it into a declaration for the win than Warner

Not many apart from AB DeVilliers

Australia need all the time they can afford to take these ten wickets. Can easily see r00t and c00k digging in for two sessions. No point in pushing for 550 just ad another hundred in an hour and put them in

The weather looked absolutely perfect when I woke up about an hour ago - disappointed to see the clouds lifting as I type

I wonder what Clarke's magic number is for the declaration?

Knowing him it's not going to be as high as would be expected. Leave them something on the high end of chasable to encourage the drive from the middle order?

That catch was a two handed catch, no right foot movement to a ball pitching outside off stump to a right hander it was 18 inch from knee !

Nah. Knowing him it's going to be 550+.

He gets pretty funky early in the game but always piles up the target if he can.
