*Official* 2nd Test at Lord's

Norwood's on Fire
So er what do we think is the most we can chase, assuming they don't make us follow on

Got to bowl them out for about 14 to have a sniff

Pitch it up and it swings. Funny that
And if it's also straight, you're in business. Just pointing it out for the benefit of England's openers.

Assuming this one goes the way it now looks, it was basically decided in the first 15 overs of each of the first innings.

So what's the perceived wisdom mere? Clarke doesn't enforce the follow on and declares mid-afternoon tomorrow?

Brett Lee getting a touch carried away describing Starc's bowling this innings as "brilliant". Think he's been pretty poor honestly. Hazlewood and Johnson have been very good though, Johnson a bit unlucky to only have 2 wickets.

It's still an okay wicket to bat on. Root will probably have to make half the runs. The others are all just about as good as each other so giving them 15-20 each would have 350 as the absolute max. You'd have to roll us for 100 or so tho.

Yeah, sometime after lunch tomorrow. Give them 4.5 sessions to bowl them out, unless Warner goes berserk and they pile on 200 plus really fast.

Johnson has been very good.
I thought Hazelwood was poor all day up until the new ball though to be honest

Yeah even if England had been bowled out for 100 I doubt Clarke would have enforced the follow on. He'll want to set England 500 or so in a day and a half.

get them out quickly and then 1.5 sessions of quick batting to set about 450-500ish

It's tailor made for Warner, isn't it. I remember him cashing in these situations more than once down under.

So I leave for an hour and come back to this. What a capitulation. We HAVE to bowl well up top. Get it pitched up and swinging and at least give ourselves a chance. Been a dire performance so far.

this segment on Rogers and Warner not really liking each other much is great. Player comments were pretty honest!

If anyone expected the follow on to be enforced unless we were bowled out before lunch today then they are mad.

All about what time Clarke declares and how many overs he wants to get the win. Doubt we will get anywhere near bowling the remaining overs tonight, be surprised if we bowl more than 23 tonight but in that time the Aussies will be looking for around a hundred runs.
