Sure, it's definitely flat. But doesn't seem flat enough to complain about, does it? The way people were going on about it (both Aussies and english) you'd assume it was an actual airport runway. The way these wickets have fallen don't necessarily show that the wicket is a seamer or anything, (could just be the pressure of 600 on the board telling) just that there is enough in it to cause problems for the batsmen, isn't there? .Excellent bowling + scoreboard pressure. Still flat as a pancake but Oz just making the conditions count with the bat and countering them with the ball. Not rocket science.
lyth though when they were going to check for no ballBells Face after getting dismissed....that good
Above all else I think if there's one thing you'd say with certainty the Aussie bowlers are better than ours at though it's bowling on flat wickets.Sure, it's definitely flat. You can get early wickets on pretty much any pitch as well, Rogers gets caught in the first over yesterday and it could have been different. Obviously England are particularly good at losing early wickets right now.Talk of a flat pitch is always greater coming from a side that's conceded 500+. People are also probably too prone to looking at scorecards and judging. Heard Swann on TMS last Saturday saying Cardiff was a great pitch, producing fast scoring rates not too high totals and a result. Also saw him tweet yesterday about how pitches like this one suck. I think this is probably a bit quicker than Cardiff, which makes the likes of Johnson a bit more dangerous, but does mean less dismissals like Voges getting caught cover at Cardiff.
