ugh stokes is gonna take this away from us i can just see it, let out a big groan when I remembered he was next in. such a gun

Excellent bowling + scoreboard pressure. Still flat as a pancake but Oz just making the conditions count with the bat and countering them with the ball. Not rocket science.
It's not that flat though. It's a very nice pitch to bat on but there's been some evident life there, Moeen was getting a bit of turn, Broad and Stokes got a bit of movement off the wicket etc. It's just a normal good batting wicket, a touch slow but more pace than Cardiff, with less turn. The talk of 600 vs 600 and it being horrible for cricket etc was premature, just like Ponting saying England was behind after scoring 430 in Cardiff because the wicket was so dead was premature.

That said it is carrying through nicely today and it wasn't always doing that yesterday so that helps the seamers for sure.

Mostly agree with all that to be fair.
