*Official* 2nd Test at Lord's

Cric123

School Boy/Girl Captain
My team:

Rogers
Warner
Smith
Clarke
Mitchell or Shaun Marsh
Watson
Neville
Johnson
Lyon
Starc
Hazlewood

I would drop Voges. He really did look all over the place in Cardiff. Watson actually looks good at the crease until he, for some unknown reason, gives his wicket away in the 30s of late. Before that, it would be in the 50s and 60s. Mitch or Shaun Marsh would come in for Voges.

I am going to miss Haddin. I like his style of batting. He used to take on the opposition. He, Johnson, Harris used to form a potent and sometimes destructive early lower order. They have now been broken up so unexpectedly. Looking at Neville's figures, they are actually very impressive. A first class average of 44 is considerably better than Haddin's 38. I don't think he is going to be a mug with the bat.

Hope England don't win this. Last thing you need as a neutral is a 5 match series being virtually done and dusted after 2 tests.

Some statistical mints from the Guardian this morning, the best of which is

Since the start of 2013 Joe Root has a strike rate of 35.4 bowling against left-handers – it is 569 against right-handers.

We've had a peek at the pitch and it's probably not going to be all that different from the one in Cardiff. Not much grass, slightly pasty colouring, probably more A130 than unrestricted autobahn.

The overhead conditions will also be key, with cloud cover parked above St John's Wood right now.
As expected then.

Not too unhappy, pitch won't break up much and it might not be so cloudy tomorrow. Still rather have batted though.

Safe to say we're going to see Marsh and Nevill shortly

No word on Moeen's fitness?
