Yeah that's exactly what I want - give the arbitrary benefit of doubt to one discipline. I don't care which discipline as long as the rules are consistent. As it stands we can have a Test match or Test series decided based on two identical situations resulting in opposite outcomes for completely subjective and essentially random reasons

The thing you're not understanding is that DRS is reviewing whether the umpire's decision is correct or not, NOT whether the batsman is out or not. The benefit of the doubt is only to one discipline. That discipline is the umpire's original decision.

Yeah, the worst ratio of ratio of talent: performance I've seen, right up there with Ramprakash. Even Hick played at least one consequential Test knock but these guys...

Yes I am actually aware of that. I guess I just hold the admittedly bizarre and unreasonable opinion that deciding whether an umpires decision is correct or not should be based on whether the batsman is actually out or not.

Nah, Wood is legit. Watson's FC average is 42, he ain't a gun.

Mental strength is also more important 'talent' than ball striking in test matches.
