*Official* 1st Test at the SWALEC Stadium

Yeah I was going to make this post after the first innings. I'm not surprised he hasn't bowled yet in the second innings, but he was picked as insurance in case the attack really lost control with the two erratic left armers, and that's exactly what happened. He should have got through at least one more spell on the first day IMO, and probably have had a crack on Day 2 when Moeen was counter-attacking as well. He's not valuable enough as a batsman or batting high enough to wrapin cotton wool anymore; if he gets injured and misses the rest of the series then so be it.
Tick.

Why would you throw all that potential away though.

Kinda yeah. He was sort of a whiny ****head when things weren't going his way etc. Even as a fan it was pretty easy to see why opposition fans didn't like him.
To some extent. I don't know hen the booing started, but I can remember a couple of times when he showed some serious dissent towards an umpire who hadn't given a decision the way Ponting saw it. Afterwards, he always assured us that he hadn't been disrespectful towards the umpire, but which perhaps he meant that he hadn't questioned the ***ual preferences of said umpire, umpire's wife, or umpire's mother. He didn't quite understand that the dissent in itself was disrespectful.
All that being said, I think it was mainly because he had been such a magnificent player against us and it was a poor attempt at some sort of parity.

Aggressive gameplan is clear, these two put on 50+ and we are in a good position. We've still got a collapse in us so not in control atm.
