As much as everyone has properly lambasted him, yesterday was the best I've seen Watson look at the crease in ages. He'll no doubt play around his lad and go lbw in the first 15 minutes on day three, but he played noticeably straighter yesterday.
Yeah, this is a huge opportunity to play a really important knock for his team for once. Don't think he has it in him, though.

Watson hasn't actually gotten out LBW very much in quite some time now. He seems to have corrected that particular technical flaw... by introducing another one with respect to pushing outside off stump.

Would be an alright innings really. Something similar from Haddin and that would be close to first innings parity. I'm more concerned about Watson adding two to his overnight score and then getting caught in the deep trying to hit a boundary.

Personally I'd want him playing his shots early.
