ftfyIn fairness to myself I was ****ing nine
This is correct.I'm 100% certain it's 2005, because I did about 2000 double takes when I saw he debuted in that year. So he's 628 and Udal's 627 if I've got Colly wrong
Beaten by Spikey to Plunkett, Shah is correct, Tremlett has the wrong cap number. So based on what's been said here -
628. Liam Plunkett
632. Owais Shah
637. Chris Tremlett?
Yeah it's something I've been thinking about recently. Part of what inspired this question was working out that Root is 5th in seniority in this England side if we define seniority as "when they debuted." There's a marked lack of players in the side around Broad's age and experience who should be coming into their peaks with plenty of experience to guide the likes of Root.Naming all the players between Broad and Root's debut is fantastic trivia. A whole five year period where none of the people debuted are still playing. Lost generation, at least in terms of the young players used.
I'll pay this. 3 Tests, 16 wickets @ 17, never selected again once Harmison came back from injury. There was a Somerset lad called Johnson who debuted around Anderson's time. Only know his name because he got mentioned in Ricky Ponting's 2004 captain's diary. Freddie had a big match in Johnson's debut iirc.

03 and you're just out with the cap numbers.Ed Smith and James Kirtley debuted together in the 04 SA series. 618-619?
See above for the scorecard: "We're only in this match thanks to a quite extraordinary innings played by our tailender" was the quote, so I always picked him in Cricket 2004 because of this. (I played as Somerset). Then last year when I was reading Ed Smith's book I saw his name again when looking at the scorecards for that summer.I'll pay this. 3 Tests, 16 wickets @ 17, never selected again once Harmison came back from injury.
