if a man decided it's the end then that should be the end. i dont know why people talked him into playing. i mean i can understand the reasons though but he decided to quit. someone like sanga won't come into conclusion without giving it a proper thought. now it's a mess. after giving so much for the country, after that dedication and determination, he's getting a load of ****

Brilliant performance by Pakistan.. Even though they have their weaknesses, Pakistan is so good when they get it right.

And nothing there to be discussed about the Sanga decision, he is a ****. #wontusetheph34rsmiley

Gotta hate it when you look at the Pakistan lineup and it has a dire opener opening, followed by a domestic opener at 3 and then a couple of decent middle order prospects not in the side at all.

Open the batting ffs Azhar.
Still better to give some chances to masood than to have hafeez around which he thankfully isn't
Masood. I can live with Shehzad but you can't tell me that batting lineup wouldn't look better with Azhar opening instead of Masood and Haris playing.
By dire you mean ahmed shahzad or shan masood?

Wait, the guy who Gambhired through the entire thread about how direly Pakistan were going to lose in every game is score boarding someone over a prediction? Nice.

Why should I not highlight the one prediction that I did get right? Especially after all the flak I get for gambhring?

it is selfish and looks bad for him now but will be forgotten in a couple of years when Lanka are getting belted without him. His legacy will be fine.

Hindsight question.

Peeps, how do we feel about Sanga not playing this test? Home test series, deciding test match, team loses, best player is playing for Surrey.
I think I commented pre-hindsight on it. Pretty weak if you ask me, you're either retired from Tests or you're not - can't pick and choose.

Yep.

Follow up question and playing devil's advocate, does the fact SLC have treated Sanga and the rest of the players poorly for much of their career (not paying salary, selection panel generally being dire etc.) give Sanga an out? Is he entitled to do what he wants cos SLC Board suck?

another question

if sanga decided to stick to his decision and retired at that time ignoring suggestions then people would blame him for not caring about sri lankan cricket anymore and being selfish since sheltering the young side for a bit was cited as prime reason?

I read the other day that Sangakkara is not an alligator too. Apparently he hasn't finished law school yet.
