Not sure who they advocated dropping but it didn't make sense to me.

Taking Ballance out of the team takes the balance out of the team.

Buttler has just as much to prove as Stokes or Moeen whatever their batting averages say. It's still well too early to determine if Buttler is a quality test batsman. If two of them are tail the other is also or vice versa.

I don't for a minute expect england to select that team anyway. Much more likely to just not play either Wood, Broad or Stokes if they play two spinners (which is a long shot anyway).

If they do play that team they are screwed because the batting won't be strong enough and it would suggest that they have no confidence in the batting of Ballance- so won't be able to bring him back for later tests with any confidence.

Harris is injured and he has to pass fitness test before to be selected in playing 11. He has very good record against England and Australia want to play him in first test but for this he has to clear fitness test. So most probably Johnson, Starc and Hazlewood will play the match as fast bowlers for Australia.
