Worst was when Bangladesh had that bowler Abdur Razzak and Pakistan had Abdul Razzaq. Complete mind****.Haha I sometimes forget his name just because it's so close to Mushfiqur Rahman. The fact that Mushfiqur Rahim also exists probably isn't helping either.
It's excusable because you're not Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi but I'm pretty sure he was. Fair to say he had a contrasting debut series to the bowler who's name he forgot.Haha I sometimes forget his name just because it's so close to Mushfiqur Rahman. The fact that Mushfiqur Rahim also exists probably isn't helping either.
Which reminds me of a classic, completely random Cricinfo jokeWorst was when Bangladesh had that bowler Abdur Razzak and Pakistan had Abdul Razzaq. Complete mind****.
Ian Bishop was left in the unenviable position of not knowing whether to refer to Angelo Mathews as "Mathews" or "Mathew". He managed by switching randomly between the two, to emerge with a creditable 50% accuracy-rate. "At least it wasn't as bad as former Pakistan allrounder Abdul Razzaq. His name was an ever-changing mashup of the individual components, such as Abdul, Abdur, Abdus, Razzaq and Razzak. A true challenge. Having a Bangladeshi player going by the same name didn't help things, either," said Bishop, before moving diagonally away and capturing an unsuspecting pawn wandering nearby.
how does averaging 31 and striking at 76 become horror 2015? Didn't score much in this series and the tri series was a joke anyways, he was quality in the league stages of the WC, failed in the KO games but that happens.Kohli just needs a break right?
Horror 2015 for him in non test cricket.
He has gone past 50 once in 15 ODIS.how does averaging 31 and striking at 76 become horror 2015? Didn't score much in this series and the tri series was a joke anyways, he was quality in the league stages of the WC, failed in the big games but that happens.
There is a difference between not that great and "horror", which is the word you used to describe his form, he's getting 20's and 30's and not converting for the most part, big whoop, it happens to the best of them. Also saying he only passed 50 once is misleading when you consider some of the run chases during the WC he remained not out while the target was reached and wasn't able to score 50's and 100's. He averaged 50+ striking at 80+ during the WC, that's the main thing, no one gives a **** about a random tri-series and one below par Bangla series doesn't make him out of form.He has gone past 50 once in 15 ODIS.
For a player of Kohli's beastliness it isn't that great (especially that strike rate in 2015), it may be unfair , but due to years of awesomeness he has higher standards than most which I am sure he is fine with.
Not saying he is finished or overrated just throwing it out their.
Partly I think it's because he won't quite fit into the XI. He's a slow starting, top order batsman. He doesn't have the big shots. He had a lot of scratchy innings in the IPL. He's either batting Top 3 in ODIs, or he isn't getting a gig. We already have Rahane, Rohit and Dhawan battling for an openers spot and Kohli has the lock on 3, so it's hard to see where he will fit. Also, just saw Pujara's List-A stats, how come he was never persisted with as an ODI player with stats that good?
Rajashtan Royals buy one get one free offer. Why was Mohit Sharma randomly chucked aside for Kulkarni?
Fails in both worthless series' and the big games.how does averaging 31 and striking at 76 become horror 2015? Didn't score much in this series and the tri series was a joke anyways, he was quality in the league stages of the WC, failed in the big games but that happens.
Scored a 100 in the biggest game of them all. Only thing that matters tbh.Fails in both worthless series' and the big games.
Smells like horror to me.
I don't know why people don't get this quite obvious point.Scored a 100 in the biggest game of them all. Only thing that matters tbh.
And the dodgy knee. Selectors also don't want to risk a serious injury.Partly I think it's because he won't quite fit into the XI. He's a slow starting, top order batsman. Partly it may also be because he is viewed as being a Test specialist and not as adaptable as the likes of Kohli, Rahane and Dhawan. Maybe they reckon playing all 3 formats will mess with his game more than it would for the others. I think they hold a similar view on Vijay. Vijay has killed it in the IPL in the past but is nowhere near the limited overs sides. I guess they want these two to focus on batting the way they are now, and not have them constantly adjusting their game for the different formats.
Rayudu isn't a bad number 4, it's just that he isn't quite good enough either. I think if Kohli slipped down to 4, and Dhawan/Rohit/Rahane was our top 3, the lineup would be a lot stronger overall.
He's not even in the first XI for tests now so I doubt that's itAnd the dodgy knee. Selectors also don't want to risk a serious injury.
