I think so, had his time in the sun when his tactic of bowling flat and firing into leg-stump worked on occasions, but batsmen have too many options these days.

Not really all that concerned tbh. England have a good batting lineup now and are always decent in home conditions.
Coming out a nose ahead in the Tests by drawing away is the main thing I'll take away here.

Feel a bit for NcCullum and Mills. Were very solid contributors to our limited overs teams but weren't given a chance for one last hurrah at the world cup. Both would arguably be around our ATG ODI XI/2nd XI.

NZ outside of their top order, really struggled this series. Ronchi has had the burden of carrying the role of the sole reliable power hitter with Anderson out.

I'm a big Ronchi fan, but I fear for his hand eye given his age.
Watling can either develop, which I doubt given the keeper batting low needs to be a power hitter in the modern game, or another keep be groomed.
if Watling could develop I could see a spot for him opening in limited overs though.

Hmm IDK. Mills would probably make my 1st ATG NZ side bracketed with (Chatfield & Pringle), but the likes or Harris & Larsen would keep NcCullum out of my 2nd XI as the slow bowling options.

Ali and Rasheed will not cause Australian batsmen to lose sleep.
Anderson was not that threatening in the test series as against Boult.
Not to mention Graeme Swan has probably fired Steve Smith and Mitch Johnson right up... Although I agreed with him on Starc as against Johnson, how dumb do you have to be to put it in the news goading him and fire Mitch J back up to full pace... And then again, if Mitch J doesn't fire up, Starc could still be lethal.

The only positives of this limited overs fiasco, was Santner's development. And Ross finding form. We already knew that Kane Williamson was the Led Zeppelin guitarist.
That said, I want to see Sodhi in pyjamas and given a go as well.

And people may realise how important Anderson and especially Milne are to the limited overs side.

That is a given.
Milne should become a pyjama specialist as he is so vital and yet so fragile. 10 years of regular Milne is important. I for one consider ODI cricket to be very important. Plus, he can make good coin in T20. In tests and first class he will just be broken. He does need to learn to be more aggressive and use his pace to scare batsmen. he will develop a good outswinger with time and already gets seam movement.
Anderson's role is a rare gem. Bowls like McClenahan but bats to redeem the role to star quality. He too shoudl really be an ODI specialist. His batting in tests is woeful with his balls outside off looking to play to cow corner and missing them altogether, and I fear that he doesn't have the physical frame to bowl long spells in test matches without injuring himself. He rugby union player solid and very powerful. Not built like a genuine pace bowler at all.
