credit to OS who thought there might be a result in this. Seemed to be heading to a draw

It was always on. The SL batting lineup is terrible if Sanga goes early. And once Mathews went too, Sl were dead. It's what happens when you select guys like Vithanage and your tailenders bat like drunk penguins. Anyone who's watched the likes of Prasad bat knows they're mincemeat in situations where responsible blocking is required.

Yeah, Sarfraz's knock did turn the match around, but Yasir should've still got it.

yea that made no sense.. as good as sarfraz was, pak weren't favored to win this match when the day started. batsmen getting favored for mom over bowlers spilling over from ODIs.

wahab played a huge role too. gave them a crucial break through in the form of karuna who was batting well. also silva who scored a century only just last innings. those wickets were important.

I dont think Pak starts as favourites against anyone these days.

I mean obviously there are multiple people who contributed to the win. It's very rare for one man to carry the whole team. 7fer is still a hell of an effort though.

Draw was the clear favorite.. and even considering how useless the SL batting line-up is I didn't expect the implosion that transpired.

Yep. Draw looked quite imminent. As viriya said that as bad as sl batting may be you'd expect them to last at least a full day. Not get bundled out in less than 2 sessions today

that's it then for hafeez. if pakistan can't use him as fifth option, i don't see the point of continuing with him as opener only esp as pakistan has some away from sub continent games scheduled next. i thought sami aslam looked pretty decent. azhar and shehzad can open followed by younis, misbah and shafiq (at no.5)

That's the thing. I don't understand why they have to persist with Hafeez. He is so damn ordinary with the bat.
